Fifth Joint Economic Commission for the North West

The Joint Economic Commission for the North West agreed a number of actions at its fifth meeting:
- To work together to promote the HMRC business payment service to businesses more widely.
- To undertake a mapping exercise to identify the level of S106 monies held by local authorities, and for what purpose these are being held.
- to encourage large businesses to adopt prompt payment policies.

to provide update on the take up of 3000 additional regional apprenticeships.
- to explore opportunities to resolve visa issues for overseas students.
The fifth meeting of the JEC will take place on 20 July 2009.
