Seventh Joint Economic Commission for the North West

The Joint Economic Commission for the North West agreed a number of actions at its seventh meeting:

NW Universities Association to send briefing on the North West's existing university capabilities in Digital technologies, and plans to continue developing this.
JEC Secretariat (NWDA/ GONW) to lead on a note that summarised what each JEC partner could do to progress the digital agenda and maximise regional economic development opportunities.
JEC members were asked to keep GONW informed on how they are meeting their commitment to the Prompt Payment Code.
JEC to determine whether the Trade Union Congress/Federation of Small Businesses Short Time Working Subsidies proposals rejected nationally could be implemented at a regional level.
JEC to discuss the 4NW report commissioned to examine impact of high-speed rail proposals in February.

The next meeting will focus on the Green Economy.
