Staff training means tenants are safe as houses

Over 15,000 families in registered housing will benefit from a much improved service, thanks to over £90,000 in funding from the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).

Liverpool Mutual Homes (LMH), Liverpool’s largest social housing provider, is training 50 members of staff to receive National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) in Management. The staff are also receiving valuable training in Customer Service skills.

This training investment has been welcomed by the team at LMH – a not for profit organisation which employs 274 people across the region.

Karen McMurdo, Head of Human Resources at LMH says: “This training investment has helped make some really positive changes to the service we provide to our tenants.

“There has been an improvement in performance and efficiency amongst the staff and as the training is based on improving customer service, the team has been keen to go the extra mile for our clients and put their training into practise.”

Expert training providers Sysco have been working with LMH to deliver the training programmes. The funding has been allocated to the company through the LSC’s Inward Investor Restructuring programme.

Paul Tinsley, the LSC’s Partnership Director for Sefton said: “This is a great example of how training one group of people can benefit thousands of others. I’m delighted that this investment in training through the LSC will aid LMH in supporting the families that it works with.”
